Đề xuất sân bay Buôn Ma Thuột là cảng quốc tế
UBND tỉnh Đăk Lăk đề xuất quy hoạch Buôn Ma Thuột là cảng hàng không quốc tế và thu hút đầu tư mở rộng theo hình thức xã hội hóa.
Theo kiến nghị của UBND tỉnh Đăk Lăk gửi Bộ Giao thông Vận tải mới đây, tỉnh đang đặt mục tiêu thu hút khách du lịch cao cấp và tổ chức sự kiện cấp vùng, quốc gia và quốc tế, đồng thời phát triển mạnh dịch vụ liên quan đến cà phê, xây dựng hình ảnh “thành phố cà phê của thế giới”.
Vì thế, tỉnh đề xuất được đầu tư mở rộng sân bay Buôn Ma Thuột thành cảng quốc tế để đón khách nước ngoài. Tỉnh sẽ khẩn trương xây dựng đề án, gửi Bộ Giao thông Vận tải, trình Tổ công tác nghiên cứu xã hội hóa khai thác sân bay của Chính phủ xem xét, báo cáo Chính phủ quyết định.
Cảng hàng không Buôn Ma Thuột hiện là sân bay quốc nội, có một nhà ga hành khách công suất đón 2 triệu khách mỗi năm, đường băng đáp ứng các loại máy bay code C (A320, A321, B737 và tương đương). Năm 2019, sân bay đón hơn một triệu khách, dự kiến năm 2022 sẽ phục vụ khoảng 1,4 triệu khách.
Theo đề xuất của Bộ Giao thông Vận tải trong dự thảo quy hoạch mạng cảng hàng không toàn quốc đến năm 2030, tầm nhìn 2050, sân bay Buôn Ma Thuột sẽ mở rộng gần gấp đôi hiện nay với diện tích là 464 ha, công suất đón 5 triệu khách đến năm 2030 và năm 2050 là 7 triệu. Tuy nhiên, Bộ Giao thông Vận tải vẫn xác định Buôn Ma Thuột là sân bay quốc nội.
